The Prosecutor Service started the process of revoking Gyurcsany’s immunity

The presecutor service would like to question Ferenc Gturcsany as a suspect.
The former Prime Minister is suspected for abuse of power because of the Sukoró land property swap.
Gyurcsany said that he will give up his immunity and is ready to stand infront of the Prosecutor Service to clarify his role in this land swap, hungarian mt1 news says.


Viktor Orban will be present at beatification

Viktor Orban will be present at the beatification of the late Pope John II on May 1st.
He will be in the Rome at an official visit and will also make time for attending the ceremony, Peter Szijjarto, spokesperson of the Prime Minister told Független Hírügynökség.

Viktor Orban will travel from the Italian capital to Palermo, where the European People’s Party (EPP) will hold an event concerning the North-African situation. During the second part of the week, the Prime Minister will travel to Germany, where he in Berlin is due to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel as well as representatives of major German manufacturing companies.
After this he will travel on to Frankfurt, where he will hold a presentation to important German investors, rtlklub.hu reports.


Budapest inaugurates HUF 5bn sewage treatment plant expansion

Budapest, April 29, 2011 (MTI-ECONEWS) – The Budapest Sewage Works (FCSM) on Friday inaugurated a HUF 5bn expansion of its sewage treatment plant in the north of the capital.

The expansion raised the plant’s capacity to about 200,000 cubic metres, said mayor Istvan Tarlos.

About 500,000 cubic metres of sewage is generated in the capital each day, FCSM said.

The investment was supported with a HUF 1.2bn grant from the World Bank’s Global Environmental Facility.

The inauguration of the investment, which took two years to complete, followed a year of test operation.
